|Ryanair has revealed it’s biggest ever flight schedule from Glasgow Airport as the airline plans to operate 13 new routes while increasing flights on existing routes.|
The airlines 2017 flight schedule from Glasgow Airport will see Ryanair operating up to 37 more departures each week from Scotland’s largest city with 13 new routes and increased frequencies on two existing routes.
Ryanair is already operating new flights from Glasgow Airport to Alicante, Brussels, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Malaga and Sofia, and has recently increased the number of flights it operates to Berlin.
From 26 March 2017, Ryanair will double the size of its Glasgow Airport base with the introduction of a second Boeing 737-800 aircraft permanently stationed at the airport enabling the airline to launch a further four new routes from Scotland’s largest city with direct flights commencing to Lisbon, Palanga, Valencia and Zadar. Flights to each destination will operate twice weekly.
And later in the year Ryanair will again further expand from Glasgow Airport with the launch of a new daily service to Frankfurt alongside four weekly flights to Madrid and a new twice weekly service to Krakow. The airline will also increase the number of flights it offers to Riga in Latvia.
Speaking in Glasgow, Michael O’Leary, Chief Executive, Ryanair, said “We are pleased to launch our biggest ever Glasgow 2017 schedule, which will deliver 2 million customers p.a. and support 1,500 jobs at Glasgow Airport.”
