27 March 2017
Glasgow Airport has secures its 29th new route for 2017 with the announcement that Eastern Airways is to launch direct flights between Glasgow and the Isle of Man.
From 02 May 2017 Eastern Airways will offer five weekly flights direct from Glasgow Airport to the Isle of Man with flights operating daily excluding Saturday and Sunday.
The new route between Scotland's largest city and the Isle of Man is expected to prove popular with thousands of tourists using the service to visit Glasgow and other major tourist draws in Western Scotland including Argyll & Bute, Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park and many of the country’s top whisky distilleries and golf courses.
Flights to the Isle of Man are expected to prove equally as popular among Scottish based passengers. Fly from Glasgow Airport on Scotland’s only direct service to the Isle of Man and you’ll discover sleepy Victorian villages, stunning rugged coastlines and even the odd steam train or two; the Isle of Man is a slice of Britain from days gone by. The Isle of Man is a surprisingly unspoilt gem of an island in the middle of the Irish Sea. At 365 square kilometres, the island is a microcosm of all things British. You’ll come across swathes of leafy valleys, rolling green hills, heather covered moorland, and a healthy amount of woodland for starters. And that’s not mentioning the coastline, which is a mix of rugged beauty and picturesque sandy coves. With its 17 national glens, never-ending network of footpaths and 9 golf courses let’s just say this is the place to be if you like the great outdoors.
Direct flights to the Isle of Man are not available from any other Scottish Airport.
The new route between Glasgow and the Isle of Man further cements Glasgow Airport’s position as Scotland's gateway to the world with direct flights to over 130 worldwide destinations including Barcelona, Dubai, Las vegas, Milan, New York, Paris and Rome.
