Glasgow Airport has secured it's first three new routes for 2018 with the announcement that Jet2 is to launch direct flights from Glasgow to Bodrum, Kefalonia and Thessaloniki.

From 01 May 2018 Jet2 will offer weekly flights direct from Glasgow Airport to each destination with flights to Bodrum operating every Thursday, Kefalonia every Wednesday and Thessaloniki every Tuesday.

The new routes between Scotland's largest city and Bodrum, Kefalonia and Thessaloniki are expected to prove popular with Scottish passengers looking for summer sun enriched with history and culture.

A charm that lies in its picturesque crescents and white-washed houses - the Turkish port city of Bodrum is a year-round travel resort. Nestled in the Western coast of Turkey, in peninsula, it has developed into "Turkey´s St. Tropez", fully living up to the name. Bodrum is significantly more than just sun, sand and sea, it has also several historical sights to explore and today the town is one of the most important centers of trade, art and entertainment. This charming coastal town is a perfect example where traditional and modern life go along hand in hand in a perfect harmony.

The largest island of the Ionian Sea, Kefalonia is a very charming place and a family favourite for summer sun. Most famous for its exotic beaches including Myrtos, Antisamos, Lourdas and Skala, the island was chosen for filming the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Apart from swimming, Kefalonia Greece has many places to see, from picturesque villages to Medieval castles and beautiful monasteries.

Byzantine churches, Roman constructions, Muslim buildings, modern architecture, intensive nightlife and stunning beaches - this is the essence of Thessaloniki. Being the second largest city in Greece, Thessaloniki combines more than 2,300 years of history with every facility and excitement that a modern European city can offer a visitor.

The new routes from Glasgow to Bodrum, Kefalonia and Thessaloniki further cement Glasgow Airport’s position as Scotland's gateway to both Greece and Turkey with direct flights to 3 Turkish cities; Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman, and seven Greek destinations including Chania, Kefalonia, Kos and Zante. Glasgow Airports multi-award winning customer service, unrivalled choice of worldwide destinations and its central location with direct motorway access ensures the airport is the preferred choice for travellers from across Scotland including those in Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and beyond.
