Flybe increase flights between Glasgow Airport and Manchester
12 April 2017

Glasgow Airport has received a further boost as Flybe launch increased flights between Glasgow and Manchester.

The airline has launched an additional fourth daily week-day flight between Scotland’s largest city and Manchester.

The new and enhanced flight schedule provides more choice and greater flexibility for both business and leisure travellers while increasing capacity for additional passengers. The increase in capacity is in response to strong and growing customer demand for the route with 42,548 passengers travelling between Glasgow and Manchester in 2016.

Flybe's Glasgow Airport hub connects Manchester to many Scottish and worldwide destinations including Barra, Bergen, Dubai, New York, and Tiree. Passengers checking-in at Manchester Airport can enjoy a seamless and hassle-free connection in Glasgow before flying onward with Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Loganair, Virgin Atlantic or other Flybe flights with luggage going straight through to their final destination and when checking in at Manchester Airport, passengers will receive boarding passes for their flight to Glasgow and those for the onward connecting flight.

The increase in flights to Manchester further cements Glasgow Airport’s position as Scotland's gateway to Ireland with direct flights to over 130 worldwide destinations including Barcelona, Dubai, Las vegas, Milan, New York, Paris and Rome. Glasgow Airports multi-award winning customer service, unrivalled choice of worldwide destinations and its central location with direct motorway access ensures the airport is the preferred choice for travellers from across Scotland including those in Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and beyond.

Jonathan Hinkles, Managing Director, Loganair, said: “Our summer schedule is a statement of intent as we announce our transition from the Flybe franchise arrangements to become an independent operator from 01 September 2017. As Scotland’s Airline, Loganair is strengthening its network and adding more seats and more flights than ever before.”
