Icelandair launch new flight connection from Glasgow to Philadelphia

Scottish travellers have received a further boost as Icelandair launch a new flight connection between Glasgow Airport and Philadelphia while increasing flights to Chicago, Denver, Edmonton, Portland and Washington DC.

The inaugural flight departed from Reykjavik on 30 May 2017 with flights to Philadelphia now operating every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Alongside a new route to Philadelphia, Icelandair has increased the number of flights it operates on existing routes with the airline now flying daily from Glasgow to Chicago, Denver, Edmonton and Washington DC, while offering five flights per week to Portland, via the airlines Reykjavik hub.

Passengers connecting in Reykjavik with Icelandair benefit from checking-in at Glasgow Airport with their bags being checked through to their final destination and when checking-in at Glasgow, passengers will receive boarding passes for their flight to Reykjavik and those for the onward connecting flight to Canada or the United States, giving passengers a seamless and hassle-free connection.

Passengers flying with Icelandair from Glasgow to Canada and the United States can stopover in Iceland for up to seven nights at no additional airfare, giving passengers the unique opportunity to explore Iceland, both country and culture, without adding onto their ticket price.
