Glasgow Airport has welcomed the launch of its latest new route as Ryanair commence direct flights between Scotland's largest city and Zadar.

The inaugural flight departed from Glasgow Airport on 03 July 2017 with flights now operating every Monday and Friday.

The new route between Scotland's largest city and Zadar is already proving popular with Croatian tourists using the service to visit Glasgow and discover Scotland's cultural capital boasting incredible architecture steeped in history, world-renowned shopping, crowded pubs and clubs and terrific restaurants, and other major tourist draws throughout Western Scotland including Argyll & Bute, Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park and many of the country’s top whisky distilleries and golf courses.

Flights between Glasgow and Zadar are proving equally popular with Scottish travellers.

Almost entirely surrounded by the warm waters of the Adriatic, the peninsula that is Zadar city centre, along with the 'mainland’ area, may not be large, but it is bursting with personality. A thoroughly cosmopolitan space, it is full of rich architecture despite its turbulent past, and offers some of the best sailing around the Zadar archipelago and along the western coast of Croatia’s Dalmatia region. Its sunsets are legendary too, making it the perfect place to unwind for romantics, young and old.

The new route between Glasgow and Zadar further cements Glasgow Airport’s position as Scotland's gateway to Croatia with direct flights to Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar. Glasgow Airports multi-award winning customer service, unrivalled choice of worldwide destinations and its central location with direct motorway access ensures the airport is the preferred choice for travellers from across Scotland including those in Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and beyond.

Direct flights to Zadar are not available from any other Scottish airport.

Michael O’Leary, Chief Executive, Ryanair, said “We are pleased to launch our biggest ever Glasgow Summer 2017 schedule, which includes 10 new routes from Glasgow including Brussels, Lisbon, Palanga, Valencia and Zadar which will deliver 2 million customers p.a. and support 1,500 jobs at Glasgow Airport.”

Already Scotland's gateway to the world and the nation's fastest growing airport, Glasgow Airport has enjoyed huge success in recent times establishing itself as one of Europe's fastest growing airports with new flights taking-off to over 30 exciting destinations including Brussels, Cape Verde, Dubrovnik, Jamaica, Krakow, Lisbon, Madrid, New York JFK and Valencia - offering passengers over 1 million additional seats.
